ZippoLighters India Private Limited (CIN U36990KA2020PTC135809), having its registered office at 1st Floor, Vaswani Augusta Lane, Whistling Greens, Challaghatta, Embassy Golf Link Road, Domlur, Bangalore North, Karnataka 560071 ("Zippo India", "we", "us", "our") operates www.zippo.in.

We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder and, as and when applicable, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. We also comply with applicable consumer protection and e-commerce requirements.

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Zippo India
is the Data Fiduciary in respect of personal data collected through this
website.

1. AGE RESTRICTION
Our products are intended for adults only. This website is not directed at persons under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data of children. We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children. If we become aware that personal data relating to a child has been collected in circumstances where its processing is not permitted under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise address such data.

2. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT
* Identity and contact data: name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address.
* Payment and transaction data: payment transactions are processed by through certified payment gateway partners. Zippo India does not intend to store complete payment card details, CVV or other payment credentials.  We may receive transaction information such as payment status, payment method, transaction reference and order value.
* Order data: products purchased, order history and transaction records.
* Usage data: browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited and referring URLs, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
* Communications: correspondence with our customer care team.
* Returns, warranty and repair data : information relating to returns, warranty or repair requests, including relevant product/order details, customer contact information, delivery details and communications concerning the relevant request.

3. PURPOSES FOR WHICH WE PROCESS YOUR DATA
* To process, fulfil and deliver your orders.
* To send order confirmations, shipping notifications and service messages.
* To respond to your queries, requests and complaints.
* To administer returns, warranty claims, repairs, replacements and the return or delivery of repaired or replacement products.
* To operate, secure and improve the website and our product range.
* To send promotional communications, only where you have consented. You may   withdraw that consent at any time (see section 8).
* To comply with applicable law, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

4. LAWFUL BASIS
We collect and use personal data where it is provided by you for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, where it is necessary to provide the products or services requested by you, or where its collection or use is otherwise permitted or required under applicable law.

As and when the relevant provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 become applicable, we will process personal data based on the mechanisms permitted under that law, including consent or such other legitimate uses.

5. SHARING OF YOUR DATA
We may share personal data only to the extent reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including with:
* E-commerce platform providers: including Shopify, which provides the Website, customer and order-management platform used for zippo.in.
* Payment service providers: including Razorpay and relevant banking/payment partners, for processing and reconciling payments.
* Warehousing, fulfilment and logistics providers: including our warehouse service provider, RapidShyp and applicable courier partners, to process, pack, dispatch, deliver and track orders.
* Website development and technical service providers: including providers supporting the development, maintenance and technical operation of the Website. Such providers are intended to receive access only to the extent required for their services.
* Analytics, communications and marketing service providers : where such tools are enabled by Zippo India, for Website analytics, customer communications, reviews and marketing activities.
* Zippo group companies and authorised repair/service providers: where reasonably necessary to provide warranty, repair, replacement and related after-sales services, including where products are required to be repaired or serviced outside India.
* Professional advisers, authorities and other persons: where disclosure is reasonably required for legal, regulatory, audit or compliance purposes, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We require service providers receiving personal data on our behalf to use it only for the relevant service and to protect it in accordance with applicable contractual and legal requirements.

6. PROCESSING AND TRANSFERS OUTSIDE INDIA
Some of the service providers, including our e-commerce platform and certain technology or analytics providers, may store and process personal data on servers located outside India as part of their global infrastructure.

Personal data may also be provided to Zippo group companies or authorised service/repair providers outside India  where reasonably necessary to provide warranty, repair, replacement or related after-sales services. This may include customer contact and delivery details and relevant product, order and repair information required to undertake the service and return the product to the customer.

Where we transfer personal data outside India, we do so in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and any restrictions notified by the Central Government, and under contractual arrangements requiring an appropriate level of protection. We will also comply with any restrictions on transfers outside India if any become applicable under Indian law from time to time.

7. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, preferences, analytics and, where you consent, marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where made available on the Website, or through the cookie preferences tool on our website. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

8. YOUR RIGHTS
You may contact us at any time if you wish to
* review, correct or update personal information which you have provided to 
* unsubscribe from promotional emails or other direct marketing communications
* withdraw a consent previously provided by you, where processing is based on that consent or
* request deletion of personal data, unless such information is of the nature that we are required or reasonably entitled to retain for legal, transaction, warranty, accounting, fraud-prevention or other legitimate purposes

As and when the relevant provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 become applicable, you will also be entitled to exercise the rights available to Data Principals under that law, including applicable rights of access to information about processing, correction and erasure, grievance redressal and nomination.

9. DATA SECURITY
We maintain reasonable security technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the risk nature of the personal data and the relevant processing, including encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS, access controls and authentication, security protections for access to the Website, and contractual security obligations on our service providers.
 
Access to customer information is intended to be limited to personnel and service providers who require such access for the relevant purpose. While we take reasonable steps to protect personal data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out
above, or for such longer period as is required under applicable law, including
tax and accounting requirements.

Where consent is withdrawn, we will cease processing based on that consent and delete the relevant personal data when it is no longer required for the stated purpose or for any applicable legal, transaction, warranty, accounting or other permitted retention requirement.
