Every genuine Zippo windproof pocket lighter is backed by an unconditional lifetime guarantee. If your Zippo lighter ever fails to work, Zippo will repair or replace it free of charge — no questions asked, no charge, regardless of the lighter's age or condition.

Note: The guarantee covers mechanical defects only — not cosmetic wear, loss, theft, or damage caused by misuse.

Windproof Lighter Troubleshooting

Lighter Not Lighting?

  • Ensure the lighter is filled with genuine Zippo premium lighter fluid.
  • Check that the flint is not worn out — replace with a genuine Zippo flint if needed.
  • Make sure the wick is visible and not charred too short. Trim or replace as required.
  • Clean inside the lighter insert if debris has accumulated.

Flame Too High or Low?

  • Flame height depends on the amount of fuel in the rayon packing inside the chamber.
  • Always use genuine Zippo lighter fluid for optimal performance.

Hinge Damaged?

  • Do not force or bend the hinge. Hinge damage is covered under the lifetime guarantee.
  • Submit a repair request and we will restore your lighter.

Decoration Wearing Off?

  • Cosmetic wear from regular use is normal and is not covered under the mechanical guarantee.
  • For significant decoration defects on new lighters, contact us within 30 days of purchase.

How to Submit a Warranty Repair Request in India

  1. Email us at careindia@zippo.com with your order details and a description of the issue.
  2. Include clear photos of the lighter showing the bottom stamp (date code) and the defect.
  3. Our team will guide you through the repair or replacement process.
  4. Genuine repair services are available through our authorised service network across India.

Authenticity Warning

Only genuine Zippo lighters are covered under the lifetime guarantee. Counterfeit lighters are not serviced. Always purchase from Zippo India or an authorised retailer to ensure authenticity. The date code and "ZIPPO" stamp on the bottom of the lighter, along with original packaging, confirm genuineness.
